Outlaw Christian Kang, born in Philadelphia, is a product of the Illinois State University Laboratory Schools (Normal, IL) and graduated from Ashland University (Ohio) on a four-year graphic design scholarship in 2000.  He played soccer at University High School (Normal, IL) but admits "I was terrible, raw, and got by with speed.  Only later when I turned into a fan, a student of the game, that's when I learned how it should be played".

After attending the 2-4 USA v Brazil 'Cup of Champions' match in Chicago 2007, Kang & his friend Justin Veach met a small band of fans that called themselves "the American Outlaws" at a Wendy's in Bollingbrook IL.  This was the first time Kang had heard of the group, and the first time the AO's had traveled from Lincoln Nebraska, but he was absolutely blown-away by their effort and commitment to US Soccer.  "When I saw that they chartered their own bus, had their own shirts, and were so organized I knew the bar was raised".

Some years later in 2012, Kang met Bloomington IL native, and then Chicago Outlaw, Eric Vogel and together co-founded AO BloNo (72nd chapter nationally) at the Pub II in Uptown Normal.  Kang served as the AO BloNo president from colony (Oct 2012) into chapterhood (Feb 2014).  Kang would later say "I kept running into Korey & The Outlaws at games, but when I ran into Vogel I finally became one!"  While in Bloomington-Normal Kang also founded the United City Football Club (UCFC) in 2008 and spent 6 seaons as player-manager captaining 61 players of 8 nationalities, collegiates & professionals, to 122 wins, 35 loses, 14 draws, 593 goals for, 200 goals against, and 6 championships.  He started back into the sport of soccer upon graduation from college, playing in a local league for a team called the Systematics (comprised primarily of computer systems professionals from State Farm Insurance).  It was his time with this team that gave him the burning desire to 'do it better' after continually losing, team in-fighting, and lack of organization.  "I was just tired of losing games before games were played, it really woke a competitive spirit in me that I never knew I had, and through UCFC it burned bright".

In 2014 Christian accepted a position on the State Farm Fire & Casualty National Catastrophe Team and moved up to Fargo North Dakota.  Upon arriving in 'The Big F', Kang founded AO Fargo (171st chapter nationally) and presided thru 2018 until stepping-down and becoming the president of the chapters' board of directors.

Professionally, in July of 2017, Kang (a licensed Part 107 & 61 pilot) became a UAV (drone) pilot on the State Farm Catastrophe Team.  On 20th September of 2018, pilot Kang and his employer State Farm Insurance, in partnership with the Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership and FAA Integration Pilot Program, became the first in the United States to fly a UAV 'Beyond-Visual-Line-Of-Sight' (BVLOS) and over people under an FAA Part 107 Waiver.  The flight was made at the Virginia Tech Kentland Farms outside the Blacksburg Va campus with an SenseFly eBee vehicle.  Kang started flying fixed-wing airplanes in the spring of 2001 and, after a break following the 9/11 attacks, obtained his private pilot certificate in 2004.

Kang has also served on the board of the AsiaNET Employee Resource Group at State Farm Insurance (2011-2014), a Discussion Leader for the State Farm Diversity & Inclusion committee (2000's), advisor for the State Farm Employee Activities Association (2012) and SFEA Soccer League Coordinator (2010), and was president of the Italian Cultural Society in Bloomington-Normal (2007).

In his spare time he continues to play soccer, golf, travel, play the violin, fly planes and do freelance artwork.
